<p>Amy Helm’s deep musical roots were enriched by a lifetime of exposure to the finest expressions of American musical tradition. Combined with her stunning vocal and other creative gifts, those roots have grown up to reveal a spellbinding artist who moves easily through a broad range of musical styles.</p>
<p>The daughter of music legend Levon Helm and singer/songwriter Libby Titus Fagen, Helm wields a powerful voice that can both stir and soothe, whether she is singing traditional gospel, blues standards or her own heartfelt compositions. She is a gifted musician on both mandolin and drums, and has clearly absorbed the lessons of the many other accomplished artists with whom she has shared stages, including Mavis Staples, Emmylou Harris, and Joan Osborne as well as other uniquely American performers like Dr. John and Hubert Sumlin.</p>

The musical chemistry, affectionate humor and family pride that Amy shared on stage with her father helped shape the Midnight Ramble as it evolved into a musical event that still attracts fans and musicians from around the world. <p><strong>Donations to this fund help support students whose families may not have the financial resources to meet small but important educational needs.  </strong></p>
<p><strong>Your donation means a 3rd grader can get new glasses,  a 7th grader can go on a school field trip and an 11th grader can take the SAT exam. These are just a few of the many ways your contribution makes a difference for Red Hook kids.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Looking for a great holiday gift for a special teacher?</strong></p>
<p>RHEF is offering you the opportunity to honor a Red Hook teacher by making a donation in their name to the Student in Need Initiative. Donations will include a <em>“Spirit of Education”</em> certificate with your name and the name of the teacher you are honoring. What better way to show a teacher how much you value the ways they support your own child or teen? And what better way to teach our kids about the true meaning of giving?</p>
<p>Your donation of $10 or more will include a personalized certificate emailed directly to you in time for holiday gift giving. Make your donation now and help all our kids have a successful school year!</p>
